Here are more important phrases that are often used in the English language. Read the sentences to find out how they are used. 


Phrases with ‘for’

1. The marathon is for a good cause as all proceeds will be given to the needy. 

2. Joshua decided to live in Australia for good after he completed his studies. 

3. Whatever the government does is for the good of the country. 


Phrases with ‘in’

1. Mrs Brown went to the kindergarten in no time to pick her sick child the moment she found out that he was unwell. 

2. Paraphernalia associated with Korean stars has been in demand recently. 

3. Jack was pleased to know that the shirt he had been wanting to buy was in stock

4. Although my best friend, Xavier, migrated to Canada, we are still in touch

5. After drifting for more than a day in the ocean, the crew was glad that land was finally in sight

6. In accordance with the latest company rules, anyone who is late for work will be issued a warning letter. 

7. The customers watched in fascination at the chefs in action as they made the noodles. 

8. The victim of the car accident lay by the roadside moaning in agony

9. The principal is in agreement with the rest of the teachers to start school an hour later every Wednesday. 

10. Funds at the charity concert are in aid of the victims of the recent earthquake. 

11. The audience was in an uproar when a technical fault caused the concert to be cancelled at the last minute. 

12. The children whispered excitedly among themselves as they waited in anticipation for the magic show to begin.
