Phrasal Verbs and More... (Part IV)
Here is another post on phrasal verbs. However, before you
learn some new phrasal verbs, read the paragraph below to see if you can spot
the phrasal verbs that you learnt earlier.
George and his teammates had been training hard for the competition.
On the day of the competition, Andrew, one of his teammates, decided to back
out of the competition. He told the rest of the team to count him out of the
competition as he wanted to visit the video game shop to test the latest football
game that had just been released. George was furious and he almost came to
blows with Andrew. However, their coach stepped in and advised Andrew not to
let the launch of the video game come between him and the competition. He
reminded Andrew that he was one of the best defenders on the team and
everyone depended on him to keep the opponents from scoring. Eventually,
Andrew gave in and agreed to go to the video game shop after the competition.
